About Me
I'm Lauren, a freelance journalist and copywriter focused on health and wellness, alternative medicine, fitness, farming, and the outdoors. My writing has been published in Outside, Digital Trends, and Acres USA, to name a few.
I'm passionate about trail and ultra running, nature-based living, and plant medicine.
Outside of writing, I can be found growing plants, running and hiking with my dogs, foraging, and wildcrafting.
I live on a small farm surrounded by an enchanted forest in Downeast, Maine with my husband, our dogs, and a turtle named Bowser.

Work Experience
2017 - Present
I've been working as a medical writer for healthcare providers, businesses, and organizations. Projects include researched articles, blog posts, and website content. I have a special interest in integrative modalities, alternative approaches to treating mental illnesses, and psychedelic medicine.
2014 - 2017
Prior to freelancing, I worked as a staff reporter for Mount Shasta Area Newspapers. During my time there, I honed my skills in research, interviewing, and writing accurately on tight deadlines.
2010 - 2013
Much to the chagrin of my family, I left my job in neuroscience research at Princeton University to teach English in South America. Upon returning, I moved to the northwest to complete an apprenticeship on an organic vegetable farm in Washington.

Graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology with a concentration in biopsychology.
During my time at TCNJ, I spent three semesters working in my advisor's EEG research lab, which prepared me for my job as the research coordinator at Princeton Neuroscience Institute.
